interneTIFF
can also be used on any website that has TIFF images and supports different
flavors of TIFF, including TIFF CCITT, TIFF CCITT Group 3, TIFF CCITT Group 4,
which are compressed TIFF files that are commonly used for FAX transmission
and document imaging.(LZW not

- What is interneTIFF's Dynamic
Display?
For Internet Explorer and Netscape Browser Users
ONLY. Click here for Mozilla FireFox and OPERA
USERS.
Dynamic Display-IE and
Netscape Browsers :
By default, USPTO displays the patent image
at a reduced resolution. Even if you have your desktop screen size width at
2048, the image will still be displayed at a width of 570.
interneTIFF dynamically adjusts this
display based on your desktop size . If your desktop size is larger, then the
image is displayed accordingly.
Compare FIG-1 and FIG-2
FIG 1: This is how
interneTIFF displays a Patent Page, without the dynamic display feature.
interneTIFF displays using the standard USPTO settings.
FIG 2:
This is how interneTIFF displays a Patent Page, with the dynamic display
feature. interneTIFF adjusts the display using the dynamic display
option.
Dynamic
Display : Mozilla FireFox and OPERA USERS.
Starting with Mozilla FireFox Version 1.5 and later,
inteneTIFF modified the Dynamic Display because of backward compatibility
issues with FireFox.
Instead, we have implemented another feature to
simulate the behavior in Version 7.
Once the Patent is opened, click on
. Based on your desktop size and settings,
the image is magnified and displayed to fit the whole screen.
- How can I turn
on/off Dynamic Display option?
Please click the User Preferences Menu
from the interneTIFF Toolbar
Select Display Options
and Choose USPTO(--USPTO Setting)
Click Save Settings.
DISPLAY OPTIONS:

Display Size:
By default, the image is displayed at it's original size.
The user can change this option so that the image can be displayed at the

displayed based on one of the following five user selected options.

- interneTIFF and the PRIVATE PAIR
Features?
interneTIFF now can read, save, print
patent pages at the Private Pair Website. You can
only print or save one page at a time.

between pages. Some of the regular features are not functional by design at
the Private Pair Site.
- How do I view
the patent pages that I just saved? Do I need another TIFF Viewer for my local
files?
innoVUE is a
stand-alone Desktop application with complete set of imaging tools to
view/save/print your locally saved patents or images. innoVUE is
installed automatically during the installation of interneTIFF-PRO. A shortcut
of innoVUE is placed on the desktop for easy
access
.
- What is the naming convention when saving ALL files from
uspto.gov?
The default option is "Save ALL, Save all
pages in a Single File". The Single File is saved in
patentnumber.tif format.
If you choose "Save each page as
Individual File" option, then pages are saved as
patentnumber-pagenumber.tif format.

Sections" option, then pages are saved as
patentnumber-sectionname.tif
format(eg: 6457832-clm, 6457832.spe

- I aborted the Save process. What happens to the saved
TIFF File?
Only the pages saved prior to aborting will be
included in the file.
- What about the USPTO's navigation buttons for pages
and sections??
There is no need to use
the USPTO navigational buttons. Instead, use interneTIFF's buttons to go
to any page or Section.
- While Saving from the USPTO site, the Status message
jumped from Saving 1 to Saving 4. What happened to pages 2
and 3?

correctly.

My local TIFF's are associated with a different product
before but I associated them with innoVUE.ico What happens if I
un-install the product?
The product saves all the information from
your registry when it's installed and puts back that information when it's
un-installed.
For Ex: if your
default image viewer for a particular format is Photoshop, and you have
selected innoVUE to be your new default viewer for that format. During
uninstallation, interneTIFF will set Photoshop back as your default viewer.
However if you installed some other image viewers after you installed
interneTIFF, those new image viewers will take over the File associations and
interneTIFF uninstallation program will still put Photoshop as your default
viewer when uninstall interneTIFF .

The Status Message
in the TOOLBAR stays at "Requesting...." or "Connecting..." for a long
time?
Every
page in the Patent is a LINK by itself. If the Traffic at the USPTO site is
heavy and/or your internet connection is slow, it will take a while for the
requested link to be received. After a while, if the connection is still busy,
you will get a "TIME OUT" Message. However, if you don't want to wait and
kill the link manually, you can Click the "STOP" button on your
ToolBar.
If this happens during
SAVEALL/PRINTALL, you have the option of STOPPING the whole process or
CONTINUE with the remainder of the pages and SAVE/PRINT missing pages
later.

I bookmarked a
Patent a while ago. When I try to open it now, I get a "Time Out"
Error.?
USPTO generates the search results
dynamically. So your bookmarked URL may not be valid after a certain period.
You have to perform a new Search for the
Patent.

The browser BACK Button is not taking me
back to the Previous Page. Instead, it opens a new Patent Page Page with
interneTIFF.?
This will happen if you use the USPTO navigational buttons
instead of interneTIFF's. Everytime you navigate to a new page using
USPTO's buttons, a new page is opened using interneTIFF. So for example, if
you go to Pages 4, 5, 6 using the USPTO buttons, When you click the Browser
BACK button, you will be taken back to Page 5, 4 and then to the previous
page. Use interneTIFF buttons instead.
